Refinishing Service

I am  not accepting refinishing until further notice due to work load.  I will post here when the service resumes.

If you have an 870 or 11-87 that you would like to see become a Tactical shotgun or simply want to see it parkerized then this page is for you.

I can parkerize your 870 as it is or add any of the items I install on my custom weapons.  I can upgrade the internal workings with the same upgrades that go into every "AI&P Tactical" custom shotgun.

The customers that have had me rebuild their personal 870's have made a few comments in the guest book so check that out before you decide.  They have also contact me and told me things like when they opened the box they were shocked because they thought I had sent them the wrong weapon and they had to check the serial number to confirm it was theirs, and things like, "WOW" or that the weapon looks better then any of the new ones they see in gun shops.  It will also feed and function better then before.

The facts are this.  The 870 in your closet is built so well that except for a couple springs and some finish issues, it is as good today as the day you bought it.  If it is a Wing Master in a blued finish we can still parkerize it and add the new Police barrels.  As the older Wing Masters are chambered for 2 3/4 " shells you would be restricted to that length and that is just not an issue for a home defense or Tactical shotgun as you would not want to shoot 3" shells and loose an additional round in your mag tube.  If you have one of the "Super Magnums" it works the same way but you would only be able to shoot 2 3/4 or 3" shells that the police barrel is chambered for.  Same goes for the 11-87 but there is a gas system that may need replaced and a few more parts that you may want to change for a total rebuild.

Look at the base price list for this service and I think you will agree it is a bargain.  If you want to upgrade the weapon then simply take a look at the "Sale Items" page of this website and pick the stock, barrel or other features you want.  I will discount the total package as you add more items.  However, the Sure Fire forend prices you see on the this website will be higher on a Rebuild by $20 because on a custom weapon when a buyer adds the SureFire forend I am deducting the Speed Feed forend that would have went on the weapon.....

The weapon will come to your address as you do not need an FFL Transfer dealer.  I am an FFL Dealer and Gun Smith and you are sending me a weapon you own and I can ship it back to you.  Your weapon will go on to my ffl books and my books are subject to BATF review so know the history of the weapon you are sending.

Converting 2 3/4" receivers to 3".  This is only available when the receiver is being refinished due to the fact the ejector rivets are removed and unfinished rivets installed.  they then have to be ground flush with the receiver.  This will allow you to shoot 3" shells in your older receiver.   Cost is additional $60.00 to the refinishing.

You will receive e-mail updates of the process.  No parts will be replaced or any additional charges occurred without your permission.  You will receiver all your old parts back if you ask but if getting stock or barrel upgrades please do not send the old stock or barrel as they may not fit in the return gun box and this results in additional shipping.

For 11-87 rebuilds you will contacted with told the condition of the gas system and given a price as with any parts.

Before & After

Here is a sample of what your can turn your old 870 into.  The Client sent the receiver and barrel. This old Wingmaster is over 40 years old.  The first photo album are the before Pictures. Each album has two pages so don't miss any pictures,  click on the picture and it will open, click on it again and it gets larger then click once more to enlarge again.... Notice the stamp TPD as this was an old Departmental Weapon, LEO are hard on weapons so I build mine to take what they dish out.  Look for deep scratches and look for them again in the after pictures.

The second photo album are the after pictures.  Notice the TPD on the receiver, remember the beat up barrel? The heavy Zinc looks a little sparkly as it is heavy Zinc, you oil it and it is as black as my ex-wife's heart.  There is some lint in the pictures but you can see the finish better if you enlarge the pictures as couple times.   I was able to get out most all the scratches but there are a couple still there but they are almost invisible, maybe I just see them as I knew where they were.  Since the bolt and carrier where chrome we left them that way.  If you have a chrome bolt and want it black I will charge you more as they have to be acid stripped and that is not fun.  The trigger assembly was a mess and had to be stripped and painted but it looks great, the close ups show where the deep scratches were but they do not show.   The internals were upgraded with the police springs and I added a Wilson Combat over size safety.  I installed a Knoxx SpecOps, Remington 3 shot extension as the barrel the client sent was a 20" so this weapon now has a 7+1 capacity.  I installed a  Mesa Barrel bracket with push button quick detach sling swivel and also a Mesa Tactical 6 round shell holder.

Click on the picture and it will open larger, click on it again and it gets even bigger.

This is an 870P a client sent in.  Most of you would think this weapon is beyond refinish but the function of this weapon was fine and only required some internal parts.   Enlarge the pictures and look at the rust and pitting.  In the Afters you will see some spec's, this is lint from shop rags and some sparkle from the camera.  The receiver came out perfect and you would have to look at the serial number to know it was not a new weapon.  Some of the pitting in on the outside of the barrel was to deep to cover but you have to be very close to see it.
